Simplified: revenue spread evenly across the month.

An approximation based on average revenue per hour. It ignores peak times, delayed purchases and knock-on damage such as lost trust.

Why the number is usually too low

Lost revenue is only the visible part. Add working time for troubleshooting, support requests, disrupted campaigns and visitors who do not come back. For outages at peak times the real loss is well above the average figure.

The most expensive outage is the unnoticed one

An outage you notice immediately rarely lasts long. It gets expensive when nobody notices: at night, on weekends, or on a page that is rarely opened. That is why the tool also calculates a six-hour unnoticed outage.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the hourly figure come from?

Monthly revenue divided by 720 hours (30 days around the clock). That is deliberately conservative.
